Most dermatologists would suggest the following skin care tips:
~Wear sunblock everyday
~Protect the sensitive skin around the eyes by wearing sunglasses
~Do not smoke- nicotine causes premature aging
~Get ample sleep
~Never sleep with makeup
~Exercise regularly
~Use warm water instead of hot so as to keep the skin moisturized
~Don’t wash the skin too often – this will strip the skin’s natural oil and moisture

Women have different skin types. Some women have oily skin and some have dry skin. Some women have sensitive skin and others even have mixed skin types. Women with sensitive skin don’t usually just buy any type of cream. They also don’t just buy any type of makeup. Mineral makeup is usually preferred by women with sensitive skin.
Mineral makeup is made from crushed minerals. It does not mean though that if you buy a mineral face powder the entire powder is made up of minerals, it just means that it contains minerals. Mineral makeup is natural and does not contain harsh chemicals that may affect sensitive skin. The most common form of mineral makeup products is usually in powder form. Mineral face powder is the most popular, followed by powdered eye shadow.

There is a saying that “cleanliness is next to Godliness”. Soap has a big role in achieving cleanliness of the body. There is a difference between a commercial soap and handcrafted soap. Regular commercial soap cleanses but often leaves the skin dry. Handcrafted soap is reach in glycerin that leaves moisture making the skin soft and silky.
More and more people are now switching to natural means of cleansing. There are a number of kinds of handcrafted soap. One is the Shea butter and goat milk soap which provides gentle moisture while gently exfoliating the skin. Another example is honey & oatmeal soap which keeps the skin hydrated, smooth and radiant while exfoliating. Not all handcrafted soaps are the same, but they do have one common factor – they are all natural.

There’s a big difference between professional make up and everyday make up. A typical working woman will apply a face powder, eye shadow, mascara and lipstick only. Any professional make-up artist will tell you that there are more products and more steps to be done when applying make-up. When applying lip makeup for instance, a professional artist recommends using more than just lip stick. A typical makeup artist uses lip balm or lip moisturizer, lip liner or lip pencil, lip stick and lip gloss.
A professional makeup artist will take several steps or products when applying lip make up. A lip moisturizer or lip balm is applied first; this will make the lips moist and allow the lipstick to stick longer to the lips. The lip liner can be applied next to outline the shape of the lips. The lip liner will also serve as the boundary for the lip stick. The color of the lip liner should generally be the same as or be the same shade but lighter than the color of the lip stick. The lip stick is then applied, better if done using a lip brush. Finally, the lip gloss is applied on top of the lip stick to give it a shiny finish.

The use of organic materials has extended to the manufacturing industry. This is most visible in the manufacture of organic makeup. The use of organic makeup has been taken up by conscientious women all over the world. Hopefully, the increased demand should bring down the prices even more so that it can compete with prices of cosmetics made the traditional way.
What are the qualities that will classify a product organic? Here are some them:
~Only plant and mineral ingredients must be used whenever possible. No endangered species should be put at risk. Irradiation of plants is prohibited and synthetic coloring agents or fragrances, or paraffin and other petroleum products are strictly prohibited.
~Only certified organic plant ingredients or certified biodynamic ingredients shall be used wherever possible. In case these are not available, ingredients should be sourced in the following order of priority: organically grown, wild-crafted and lastly conventionally grown plant ingredients and they should not contain any genetically engineered ingredients.
~No ingredients derived from animals may be used except beeswax, bee pollen, propolis, honey, royal jelly, milk, and lanolin, which are considered acceptable as they do not harm the animal.
~Manufacturers should use recyclable and environmentally friendly packaging wherever possible
