no carmine from cochineal
A color additive currently permitted for use in foods and drugs in the US is cochineal extract. Its related color, additive carmine, has also license to be used in foods, drugs and cosmetics. However, there have been documented cases of allergic reactions to cochineal extract and/or carmine in some foods.
Be careful in choosing products when buying cosmetics. To be safe, select items that have no carmine from cochineal to eliminate any chances of contacting any allergies from these things you put on your skin.
